Dibasic Calcium Phosphate - DCP
Dibasic Calcium Phosphate (DCP) is a calcium salt of phosphoric acid categorized as inorganic compound. It is a white, odorless, and tasteless powder that is insoluble in water and stable in air. It is commonly used in the food and pharmaceutical industries as a source of calcium and phosphate, as well as a buffering agent and an anti-caking agent. It is insoluble in alcohol, is practically insoluble in water, but is readily soluble in dilute hydrochloric acid and nitric acids.
We supply Dibasic Calcium Phosphate (DCP) as Dihydrate or Anhydrous. When during application, there are chances of temperature going above 50 Deg C, then generally DCP Anhydrous are suitable for use.
Low lead and Aluminum is custom made for specific requirements
Milled and Direct compressible grades are available in this category
Particle size, bulk & tapped density can be varied to suit customer requirements

Food Applications
Nutrient Supplement:
Dibasic calcium phosphate is commonly used as a nutrient supplement in various foods and dietary supplements, particularly as a source of calcium and phosphorus.
Calcium and phosphorus are essential minerals that are required for many bodily functions, including bone and teeth formation, nerve and muscle function, and the maintenance of a healthy cardiovascular system.

Anti-Caking Agent:
Dibasic calcium phosphate is commonly used as an anticaking agent in food products, particularly in dry powder products like spice blends, baking mixes, and powdered drink mixes.
Anticaking agents are used to prevent the formation of lumps or clumps in dry powders by reducing the attraction between particles and improving the flowability of the powder.
pH Control Agent:
Dibasic calcium phosphate is sometimes used as a pH control agent in certain food products, particularly those that have a high acidity, such as canned fruits and vegetables. pH control agents are used to regulate the pH level of a food product to prevent spoilage, maintain product quality, and enhance flavor.
It is an effective pH control agent because it is basic in nature, meaning it can neutralize acidic components in food and raise the pH level. This can help to preserve the texture, color, and flavor of the food product, as well as extend its shelf life.

Pharma Application
Tablet Filler:
Dibasic calcium phosphate is a commonly used filler material in the pharmaceutical industry, particularly in tablet formulations. Fillers are added to tablet formulations to increase their bulk, aid in the formation of tablets, and ensure uniformity of the active ingredient.
It is an effective tablet filler because it is a non-toxic, inert substance that is biocompatible and has good compressibility. It also has a relatively low density, which means that it can increase the bulk of the tablet without adding significant weight.
Excipients:
Dibasic calcium phosphate is commonly used as an excipient in the pharmaceutical industry. Excipients are inactive substances that are added to a medication or drug formulation alongside the active ingredient.
It can serve as an effective excipient due to its physical and chemical properties. It is a fine, white, odorless, and tasteless powder that is stable, non-toxic, and biocompatible. It has a high surface area and is insoluble in water and organic solvents, which makes it a useful filler and binder in tablet and capsule formulations. It can also act as a disintegrant, helping tablets to break down in the digestive system
